EDUCATION

“I always look at the new cohort in the Half Initiative each year as the future of this business. I want mentees to not only learn from masters at their craft but also build a long-lasting bond they can use as a resource for their career. The future was always bright and it has been exciting to watch as they hone their skills thru the program and become leaders in the industry.”
- Tanase Popa, Co-Founder of Half Initiative
Executive Producer, Ryan Murphy Productions
THE MENTEES BECOME THE MENTORS...
Many Half mentees that have established a successful career in episodic continue to mentor the next crop of mentees through our shadowing program, educational workshops and creating networking opportunities.

"I was honored to teach a workshop for the alumni of Half. We talked a lot about prepping an episode along with my journey into directing. Could not be more grateful to [Half] for launching my career in television"
- Maggie Kiley, 2016 Half mentee, director, Scream Queens,
American Horror Story, Riverdale, Dirty John, and currently has
an overall deal with Warner Bros. She also hosted a
workshop for Half mentees on Director's Prep in Episodic.

"My path from Half Initiative mentee to television director to
Half Initiative mentor is a journey I could have never imagined for myself. It is incredibly gratifying to come
full circle and have the opportunity to positively impact
someone else's directing career"
-Brenna Malloy, Half mentee, director, 9-1-1, Lone Star
Since Half, Brenna has had Half mentees shadow her on
